MelissaSoft 3D
Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about LiDAR-based industrial automation and spatial perception solutions.
What solutions does MelissaSoft provide?
Safety monitoring, structured and unstructured obstacle detection, volume measurement, and industrial automation through 3D analysis — four capability groups for LiDAR infrastructure that assists automated operations.
Which sensors are used for industrial site safety monitoring?
Fixed 3D LiDAR detects people, vehicles, and forklifts to assist hazard zones and safe operation of automated equipment, using LiDAR sensors such as Ouster, Hesai, and Livox.
What does LiDAR 3D volume measurement do?
It automatically measures the 3D volume and footprint of stockpiles, raw materials, waste, and pallets without contact. Used for inventory, load analysis, and crane/forklift task planning.
How is flat-floor yard inventory handled?
Fixed LiDAR in flat warehouses and yards maps stock and open space as coordinates — supporting yard inventory without manual surveys and assisting unmanned forklift scheduling.
Can sensor layout be reviewed before installation?
The LiDAR coverage simulator reviews sensor placement, detection range, coverage, and blind spots in a virtual environment before deployment. A sensor layout design tool and an FOV calculator are also provided.
How does adoption proceed?
One continuous process: Data PoC (off-site · from $1,000) → Field PoC (on-site · from $4,000) → Production (contract · quote on request). Every deployment includes a 3-month free defect warranty.
